
GEORGE
M. YATES President
Mr. Yates is a New
Mexico native and graduated from high school at the New
Mexico Military Institute in 1964. He received a
Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of
Texas in January of 1969. He has been President of the
New Mexico Landmen's Association and the Independent Petroleum
Association of New Mexico. Mr. Yates is past Chairman of
the Board of Directors of Mountain States Legal Foundation and
the Environmental Issues Council based in Washington, DC. He
is Past Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Association of
America (IPAA) and the Natural Gas Council and also is a
member of the National Petroleum Council. |
| GORDON YAHNEY
Exploration Manager and Chief Geologist
Mr. Yahney graduated from
Defiance College in 1974, with a Bachelor of Science Degree,
and from Bowling Green State University in 1978, with a
Master of Science Degree in Geology. He worked for Texaco,
Inc. as a district geologist and exploration geologist in
their Midland, Texas and Denver, Colorado offices from 1977
until 1985. In this capacity, he worked on numerous
frontier projects and in various North American areas
prospecting for hydrocarbons, uranium, and geothermal
resources.
Mr. Yahney joined HEYCO in
1985 as an exploration geologist primarily for the southeast
New Mexico portion of the Permian Basin. His current
responsibilities are the generation and evaluation of
Permian Basin and Orogrande Basin drilling prospects and the
management of the Geology Department. His technical
specialties include the evaluation of the petroleum
potential of basins and the integration of geochemical,
geophysical, and geological data. He also is familiar with
numerous computer graphics applications and the operation of
geophysical workstations. |

ARLENE ROWLAND Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mrs. Rowland is a native of New
Mexico and graduated from Tularosa High School in 1973. She
graduated from New Mexico State University with a BA in
Accounting in 1977 and received her CPA certificate in
1982.
Mrs. Rowland has been with
HEYCO for 25 years and as chief financial officer, oversees
all accounting and business functions. She has served on
the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the Petroleum
Accountants Society of New Mexico. She also has served on
various volunteer boards in the Roswell community.

| VERNON DYER
Land Manager
Mr. Dyer
graduated from the College of the Southwest with degrees in
Business Management, Geology, and History, after military
service in the US Navy. He joined Texaco, Inc. in 1967 and
worked in its Production Department until 1972, when he was
transferred to the Land Department in Midland, Texas. In
1977, Mr. Dyer joined Oil Development Company of Texas (ODC)
in Amarillo as a Staff Landman responsible for New Mexico,
West Texas, and the Southern Rockies. In 1980, ODC changed
its name to Santa Fe Energy Company and Mr. Dyer became
District Land Manager for the Permian Basin, opening the
District Office in Midland. In 1991, Mr. Dyer was
transferred to Santa Fe Energy’s Corporate Office in
Houston, Texas and was part of the Corporate Land Staff
until taking early retirement in 1995.
After
retiring from Santa Fe Energy, he moved to Roswell, New
Mexico where he opened his own full service land management
office until 1998 when he joined the HEYCO staff as Land
Manager.
Mr. Dyer
has been a member of the American Association of
Professional Landmen since 1977 and became a Certified
Landman in 1980. In 1982, he became a member of the Permian
Basin Petroleum Landmen’s Association and the New Mexico
Landmen’s Association, where he is its Past President, and
currently serves on its Board of Directors.
